Curing Music

The Cure got rightfully inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend and Robert Smith was about as excited as you think he would be about it. They are also planning a “Dark, incredibly intense” new album for release on Halloween this year.

Album of The  Week

Begin to Hope - Regina Spektor (2006)

You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first, I loved you first
— Samson
I must go on standing
I’m not my own, it’s not my choice
— Après Moi

Regina Spektor’s family moved away from Moscow when she was 7 to escape persecution as Jews in Russia. She would end up in the Bronx by the age of 9 but picked up multiple languages and uses some of them in her music. This was her fourth album and her first major hit with Fidelity being used in TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy.
