The public display certainly seems like it was equally aimed at turning public perception back to his side after he cheated on her multiple times. He grabs the microphone and says “I’m sorry bruh” to Cardi, which is what you say in college when you throw up in your friend’s apartment, not to your wife and mother of your child after you cheat on her multiple times.
It is well documented the feud between Cardi B and Nikki Minaj, so when Nikki saw that Cardi had managed to date a terrible guy she had to outdo her. Nikki’s new boyfriend known as “Zoo” presumably because he’s spent so much time in cage, is a registered sex offender for attempted rape and has been to prison for fatally shooting someone. So congrats to Nikki she won this round and found the worst man she could.
